The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) will next week launch the maiden edition of the Ghana Music Week (GMW), an international music festival to promote Ghanaian music internationally.
The festival, when it takes stage on a yet-to-be-announced date, is expected to attract over 500 musicians, bands, industry experts, representatives of Music Unions from ten African countries and speakers from around the world.
The key goal of the GMW is to create the music industry’s biggest platform which will bring together artistes, stakeholders, the media, decision/policy makers and music lovers.
This, organizers say, will promote authentic Ghanaian music.
Keynote speakers at the launch, which comes off at the Regency Coconut Grove Hotel, Accra, on Tuesday, September 11, will include the Minister for Tourism, Akua Sena Dansua, Minister for Chieftaincy and Culture, Mr. Alexander Asum-Ahensah, and Dr Kwabena Duffuor, Minister for Finance.
