Black Entertainment Television (BET) award winner Sarkodie has joined the few list of Ghanaian celebrities to have their Twitter account verified.
The multiple-award winning artiste, who is currently out of the country, shared the news with his fans on Twitter Wednesday.
He joins the likes of Emmanuel Frimpong of Arsenal and Black Stars player Andre Dede Ayew, whose accounts have been verified.
Known as Ghana’s fastest rapper, Sarkodie, who has 83,744 followers as at Thursday on Twitter tweeted that, “Yup Teamsarko we verified... Thumbs up.”
The Twitter handle of the Azonto Fiesta hit maker now carries the iconic blue sign associated with accounts with verified users.
Twitter account verification has become a big deal for Nigerian celebrities and its catching up with Ghanaian celebrities as well.
Innocent Idibia popularly known as 2Face also joined Nigerians celebrities, including D'Banj, Ice Prince, Asa, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde and Genevieve Nnaji, who have had their accounts verified.
Sarkodie has become the first and only Ghanaian artiste, till date, to win a BET award. He has also won the artiste of the year twice at Ghana’s Music Awards.
The U Go Kill Me hit singer has been nominated alongside D-Black and EL for the upcoming Channel O Music Video Awards slated for October in Soweto, South Africa.
