Abetifi MP gifts 68 hairdressers, dressmakers ¢170k

The Abetifi MP, Bryan Acheampong, has presented an amount of ¢170,000, 42 sewing machines and 26 hair dryers to the Dressmakers and Hairdressers Associations in the Abetifi Constituency.

The kind gesture forms part of the MP's social policy to assist young women to operate on their own to become economically self-sufficient and independent.

This laudable programme, according to Bryan Acheampong will be implemented the year the artisans are graduating.

Presenting the items to the beneficiaries, the MP lauded the trainers of the graduates for dedicating their precious time to training them to become self-sufficient in life.

He also commended the beneficiaries for committing themselves throughout the four-year training period.

Mr Acheampong gave each of the 68 members ¢2,000, a sewing machine and hairdryers to start their own business.

The lead artisans who facilitated the training also received ¢500 each.

He said, "this is to ensure that members who have acquired training in dressmaking and hairdressing in the district start their trade without inhibition.

"Next year, if you are an apprentice and you are able to graduate you will be going home with ¢2,500, a sewing machine or hairdryers and the training cost".

The District Chief Executive for Kwahu East, Isaac Agyepong admonished the graduands to let their parents and society benefit from the investments by working hard to achieve their goals.

Present at the function were Abetifi Constituency Chairman of the NPP, Kwaku Addo, Nana Opoku Mintah II, Cheif of Kwahu Tafo, Nana Opoku Tano II, Chief of Bokuruwa and Nana Ama Amanua II, Queen Mother of Abetifi.
