In a gesture of collaboration and commitment to improving the lives of pupils across Ghana, Access Bank proudly welcomed a courtesy visit from the Ghana Education Service (GES) at their headquarters in Accra.
The focus of the visit was to foster a stronger relationship between Access Bank and GES for Phase 2 of the "A Sandal More for a Better Tomorrow” initiative.
"A Sandal More" initiative is a sustainable initiative aimed at providing high-quality and comfortable footwear produced from used car tyres for underprivileged school children nationwide. This initiative thus tackles the dual needs of promoting quality and inclusive education for all children by offering sandals for underprivileged children and promoting environmental sustainability under SDGs 4 and 11 respectively.
This partnership underscores Access Bank's dedication to supporting education, enhancing sustainability, and entrepreneurship.

Managing Director of Access Bank (Ghana) Plc, Olumide Olatunji expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, "We are thrilled to work hand in hand with the Ghana Education Service to make a positive impact on the lives of pupils through this meaningful project. Access Bank is committed to creating opportunities for a brighter future for the youth of Ghana."
During the meeting, key representatives from Access Bank and GES discussed the implementation strategies for Phase 2 of the project, outlining plans to reach more schools and students in the coming months. The partnership aims to not only provide functional footwear made from used car tyres, but also promote a sense of dignity and self-confidence among the pupils.
The phase 2 of ‘A Sandal More’ initiative is in partnership with GES, Horseman Shoes, and Chaint Afrique.
