The Paramount Chief of the Aflao Traditional Area, Torgbui Amenya Fiti V, has been officially unveiled as the patron of the forthcoming Experience Volta Festival, a flagship cultural and tourism event celebrating the heritage and economic potential of the Volta Region.
The unveiling ceremony took place at the Aflao Palace of Torgbui Amenya Fiti V on Monday, September 29, drawing sub-chiefs, traditional priests, and festival organisers to witness the symbolic occasion.
Scheduled for Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Elwak Sports Stadium in Accra, the Experience Volta Festival has been endorsed by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) as part of the prestigious December in GH calendar and the Black Star Experience — platforms that unite Ghanaians and the diaspora in celebrating cultural dynamism during the festive season.
The festival, organised by Ewevi Multimedia Ltd, owners of Volta-based Ewe24 TV, in partnership with the Centre for National Culture (CNC) and other institutional collaborators, aims to showcase the region’s rich traditions, vibrant heritage, and untapped economic opportunities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Eric Seyram Agbolosu, CEO of Ewevi Multimedia Ltd, highlighted the festival’s dual purpose as both a cultural celebration and a development platform.
“We need to take Volta out of the existing market into a new market to attract more customers,” Mr. Agbolosu said. “With the right level of participation, the festival will open up the region to national and international audiences, driving tourism, trade, and creativity.”
Torgbui Amenya Fiti V, in accepting his role as patron, pledged his full support to ensure the festival’s success. He also extended a call to Ewes in the diaspora and Voltarians living outside the region to actively participate in the cultural initiative.

The festival promises a vibrant line-up of activities, including traditional drumming and dance, arts and crafts exhibitions, cultural performances, indigenous cuisine, and investment forums highlighting the region’s vast opportunities.
Thousands of participants from Ghana and abroad are expected, positioning the event as a major highlight of this year’s December in GH celebrations. Organisers are confident that with Torgbui Amenya Fiti V as patron, the festival will not only spotlight the richness of Ewe culture but also stimulate tourism, create jobs, and boost the Volta Region’s role in Ghana’s cultural and economic growth.

Why Accra Will Host the Festival
Unlike traditional festivals held in specific communities across the Volta Region, Experience Volta in Accra seeks to unify all towns and traditional areas under one grand cultural platform.
Organisers explain that hosting the festival in Accra, which serves as neutral ground, is both strategic and symbolic. Aligning the event with December in the GH calendar places Volta culture at the centre of Ghana’s most vibrant festive tourism season, attracting both local audiences and international visitors.

The Accra venue also offers an opportunity for Ewes unable to travel home to reconnect with their heritage. Beyond nostalgia, the festival will serve as a one-stop cultural marketplace, offering an immersive experience of Volta’s music, food, dance, fashion, and tourism.
By merging culture with commerce, the festival is expected to boost small and medium-sized enterprises, artisans, creative talents, and tourism operators, setting a model for cultural tourism in Ghana.
Ultimately, the Experience Volta Festival is a call to unity, identity, and pride, celebrating the heartbeat of the Volta Region within Ghana’s capital, while projecting its heritage onto the global stage.
