Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will on Friday, March 1, 2024, commission the University of Ghana stadium (Legon Stadium) on Friday, March 1, 2024.
The 11,000 capacity facility which has been completed to host the African Games 2023 will be commissioned as part of the final phase of preparations for the games.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports extends invites to all stakeholders to be a part of the ceremony.
"I write with the warmest compliments of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Local Organising Committee of the 13t African Games, Accra 2023," portion of the letter dated February 27, and sent to all parties said.

"It is with great pleasure that we write to invite you to the Commissioning of the University of Ghana Sports Stadium for the 13th African Games, Accra 2023.
"The event is scheduled as follows:
DATE: Friday, 1st March 2024
VENUE: University of Ghana Sports Stadium
TIME: 3. 1O:OOam.
"His Excellency, Dr Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana is the Special Guest of Honour for the event.
"The Commissioning of the University of Ghana Stadium signifies the final stages of preparations to host more than thirteen thousand (13,000) elite athletes, officials, technicians, and volunteers in the greatest sporting showdown on the Continent.
"Ghana is poised to welcome brothers and sisters from fifty-four (54) countries to compete in twenty-nine (29) sporting disciplines, eight (8) of which will serve as qualifiers to the 2024 Paris Ol5rmpics.
"The University of Ghana Sports Stadium, the Borteyman Sports Cornplex and seven (7) other venues would serve as competition venues for the Games"
"Your esteemed presence would be much appreciated to grace the occasion, as we finalise preparations towards the iconic hosting of the African Games by Ghana. 6. Please accept the assurance of the highest consideration of the Hon Minister."
