Three Senators from the State of Nebraska, United States of America, and International consultants are currently in Ghana for a 5-day investment tour.
Their visit is aimed at working and developing business relations between Ghana and the State of Nebraska, with a focus on Agriculture, Agro Processing, Energy, Lands and Natural Resources.
Agrihouse Foundation, Ministry of Agriculture and Ghana Tourism Development Authority are hosting the delegation.
The senators were met on arrival by the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Development Authority, Mr Kwasi Agyeman, Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Mr Yaw Frimpong and CEO of Agrihouse Foundation, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa.
The visit has been described as an effort to create the much desired economic path opening to deepening opportunities between Ghana and the State of Nebraska, especially for actors in the Livestock and Agro Processing sub-sectors.
The Nebraska Senators are here to explore investment and development opportunities as they are expected to interact with both public and the private sectors' key players.
They will also engage in agricultural field trips to have first-hand experience.
The visit also seeks to strengthen relations between Ghana and the State of Nebraska.
Members of the delegation are former Senator Ken Schilz, Senator Andrew La Grone and Julie Slama, the youngest serving woman in the Nebraska State.
In an interview, the CEO of Agrihouse Foundation Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa said the visit of Senator Julie Slama should inspire the youths in agric, especially where the Senator is also youthful and passionate about agricultural development and food security.
