The local agricultural advocacy NGO, Agrihouse Foundation, has announced that the 2025 edition of its flagship program, Gathering of The Royals, will honor former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings by introducing a special award category named after her.
The highlight of the annual women’s gathering will be the celebration of her legacy as an iconic figure who championed the cause of Ghanaian women on the international stage.

The Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings Legacy Honours Award will recognize three women—one from Ghana and two from other African countries.
The award will be presented to individuals who have made significant contributions to women's development.
The event, scheduled for March 12, 2025, at the GNAT Hall in Accra, is expected to bring together over 100 queen mothers and 365 women farmers from all 16 regions of Ghana to engage in dialogue, share experiences, and promote gender equality in the agricultural sector.
It will be held under the theme: "Seeds of Change: Honouring Leadership, Inspiring Hope, and Strengthening Women to Innovatively Enhance Our Agrifood Future."

The event, which coincides with Ghana’s Heritage Month, will showcase the rich Ghanaian culture through performances by queen mothers from various traditional areas.
Speaking at the media launch in Accra, the Executive Director of Agrihouse Foundation, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa, emphasized the significance of Gathering of the Royals as a catalyst for change.
She noted that the event provides an opportunity to celebrate and recognize women's leadership in agriculture while advocating for stronger policies that promote inclusivity, sustainability, and innovation in the sector.

Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosa stated that since its inception six years ago, Gathering of the Royals has firmly established itself as a transformative initiative, empowering queen mothers and women in the agricultural value chain.
She added that the platform has facilitated—and continues to facilitate—meaningful discussions and collaborative efforts to address key challenges facing women in the agricultural sector, including access to resources, market barriers, and the adoption of sustainable farming practices.
