A non-governmental organisation, Mensah Global Health is committed to establishing a borehole project to provide a more permanent clean water supply to the Battor community by drilling into the ground to access groundwater.
This commitment follows their visit to the community, which was flooded following the spillage of the Akosombo Dam by the Volta River Authority. Battor is one of the towns affected along the lower basin.

The foundation, led by Dr. Doreen Mensah, provided relief aid such as food, toiletries, water, and medication to the community.
During the donation, the NGO, a subsidiary of the Vida Darko Mensah Foundation, observed that water sources for the community were unhealthy.

In response to this, the NGO decided to partner with Ghana Medical Relief to rally Ghanaians to sink boreholes in the affected areas.
“Their water supply is not drinkable, and therefore, they rely on the generosity of organizations like mine, Dr. Owusu, and others to bring them necessary water.

"They aim to come up with a more permanent solution to the water issue, essential for building a tank, which is a borehole into the ground, accessing groundwater that will be filtered, providing a continuous supply of clean water to the community," Dr. Mensah told Myjoyonline.com.

Dr. Mensah indicated that they are seeking donations from organizations and individuals to fund the borehole project through the Mensah Global Health organization via Mensahglobalhealth.org.
