President Akufo-Addo has temporarily banned Ministers of State from travelling outside the country.
Deputy Ministers are also affected by this order which will be in place for the next one month.
However, trips related to medical emergencies may be exempted from this directive, according to Accra-based Asaase News.
Although this action will be the second of its kind since the President assumed office in January 2017, it is unclear what is informing the latest decision.
In June 2018, the President directed that all foreign travels by Ministers, Deputy Ministers, MMDCEs and Heads of Government Agencies be temporarily suspended with immediate effect.
“Guidelines in respect of future foreign travels aimed at minimizing disruption to Government’s domestic work will be communicated to you shortly,” parts of the 2018 directive read.
