Ghanaian entrepreneur and lifestyle influencer Princess Amdia Burland, known professionally as Ama Burland, is among a select group of tastemakers booked for Spotify’s global project Afrobeats: Culture in Motion in Lagos this October.
The four-day series runs from October 1 to 5 and aims to trace Afrobeats’ rise while spotlighting the genre’s intersection with fashion and culture.
Spotify presents the project as a multimedia celebration of the sound’s five-year surge, pairing documentary work and live activations to map how Afrobeats spread from West Africa to the world.
The campaign highlights a reported 240 million global discoveries for Afrobeats on Spotify in the past year, a figure the organisers say underscores the genre’s rapid international growth.
At the Lagos edition, Ama Burland will take part in studio visits, exclusive performances and curated meet-ups designed to connect creators, producers and international guests.
She will also be part of conversations that examine how music, fashion and storytelling collide, and how creators can monetise and scale food, lifestyle and cultural content across the region.
Local partners on the project include Lagos-based creative label Severe Nature, which helped stage a multisensory fashion and music showcase during the event.
Ama Burland’s profile as a content creator and entrepreneur has grown steadily recently.
Her work spans lifestyle and fashion content and includes collaborations with regional brands.
Her invitation to the Spotify project reflects both her cross-border appeal and the larger role Ghanaian creators play in shaping Afrobeats culture beyond music.
Events like Afrobeats: Culture in Motion help cement creative networks and open doors for new partnerships between artists, designers, and platforms.
For participating creators, the Lagos event presents an opportunity to connect with influential cultural figures, create content that enhances their global visibility, and explore new business prospects through playlists, tours, and brand partnerships.
For Ama Burland, the invitation marks a significant milestone, positioning her among the voices shaping Afrobeats’ next chapter while underscoring the vibrant cultural exchange between Ghana and Nigeria that continues to drive the genre’s influence across the world.
