President John Dramani Mahama has finally assigned some of his Ambassdor-designates to their duty posts abroad.
Chief among them is former Director of Monitoring and Evaluation at the Presidency, Dr Tony Aidoo, who recently criticized Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams for his spiritual intervention for the falling Cedi.
The rest include Dr Cadman Mills, brother of the late President John Evans Atta Mills and Ghana's former Ambassador to Serbia and Montenegro, Victor Smith.
Government sources said Dr Aidoo has been made Ghana's' Ambassador to The Netherlands, while Dr Cadman Mills, who was an economic advisor to his late brother, replaces Daniel Ohene Agyekum as Ambassador to the United States of America in Washington DC.
Mr Ohene Agyekum, former Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NDC, is now chairman of Cocobod.
Former Ambassador to Czech Republic and later Eastern Regional Minister, Victor Emmanuel Smith, is set to become the next High Commissioner to the United Kingdom at the King James Court in London, replacing Professor Kwaku Danso-Boafo.
Former Information Minister Zita Okaikoi, have been pencilled for the position of Ghana's High Commissioner to South Africa.
According to the sources, the Mahama is waiting for clearance from the governments of the respective countries they have been assigned to, to enable the Ghana government to issue the individuals with letters of credence for them to proceed abroad for their diplomatic duties.
Dr Tony Aidoo and his colleagues were among others named in a statement issued by government sometime last November as Ambassador-designates.
Others are former Information Minister John A. Tia, who may be going to Burkina Faso, former Northern Regional Minister Moses Magbengba, former Secretary to Cabinet Ben C. Eghan and former Minister for Youth & Sports, Akua Sena Dansua.
The rest are former acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority (NPRA), Sam Pee Yalley, former Brong Ahafo Regional Minister Kwadwo Nyamekye Marfo and former Upper West Regional Minister Mahmoud Khalid.
It is not clear when the President would release the official and full list of countries for the aforementioned individuals and the list of the diplomatic appointments.
