Black Star's all-time top scorer, Asamoah Gyan has revealed his desire to play for Asante Kotoko should he decide to resume his playing career.
Gyan is known to have been a boyhood fan of the club but is yet to don the famous red jersey during his playing days.
The forward was widely expected to sign for the Porcupine Warriors before the start of last season but ended up penning a deal with Legon Cities.
However, speaking on Joy FM in the early hours of Monday, as part of his media interaction ahead of his book launch, Gyan expressed his love for the Ghana Premier League side while admitting the Kumasi-based side will be his next club should he want a return to the local scene.
"I would like to play for Asante Kotoko if I have to return [to playing football again]. I am a huge fan of the club," Gyan said.
Kotoko are currently the league leaders of the 2021/22 Premier League season, boasting an eight-point gap at the top of the league table after 25 games.
