Ghana's U-15 boys suffered their first defeat of the ongoing CAF African Schools Football Championship following their defeat to Tanzania.
The two met in the first of two semifinal games at the University of Ghana Stadium on Friday, April 25, with a place in the final at stake.
However, Sadam Hamis scored in the opening minutes of the encounter to hand the defending champions a 1-0 win against the host nation.
Ghana came into the clash with three wins from three games in the group stages, beating Uganda, South Africa and Algeria in the process, while Tanzania picked up just one win from three games in Group B.
After unsettling the Black Comets in the first minutes of the game, Tanzania soaked up the pressure from the host team, clearing all attacks that were thrown at them.
Despite their spirited efforts, Ghana was unable to get the equaliser as the game ended 1-0, sending Tanzania to the final while Ghana now has to play the third-place playoff game.
