The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for New Edubiase, Mr Degraft Kyei-Baffour is reshaping the 19-kilometre Ataase-Junction-Bonsu feeder road in the Adansi South District in Ashanti from his own resources.
This followed an appeal made by the communities to him during his campaign tour of the area.
The road, which is in a deplorable state, had made transportation of goods and services to the marketing centres very difficult.
Mr Kyei-Baffour told the Ghana News Agency that he was touched by the plight of the people in the area and decided to help to put the road into good shape.
He said the Government had erected poles for the extension of electricity from Ataase-Junction to Hwidiem while the Cocoa Board was tarring the Kwame-Adu-Sumuoso feeder road.
He presented five streetlight bulbs to the Ataase community whiles Kwafokrom had shovels, pickaxes and wheelbarrows to help in their sanitation programmes and Obuobi community also had jerseys and footballs.
Mr Kyei-Baffour called on the electorate to vote massively for him and Nana Addo dankwa Akufo-Addo to ensure the sustainable development of rural communities.
