Ayrton Drug Manufacturing Limited has organized its annual customer appreciation reception as part of its customer engagement program.
The ceremony was aimed at recognizing and rewarding loyal customers for the year 2015.
The ceremony started with a training session where senior managers of the company engaged customers in discussions across various topics. This session was led by the Head of Sales and Marketing, Miss Monica Adukpo.
She reiterated that “in line with Ayrton’s missions, we will continue to produce high quality and yet affordable medicines to ensure that we deliver on our commitments to the patients, customers and shareholders who rely on us. We will continue to add value to life”.
Speaking at a dinner and awards ceremony, the Managing Director of Ayrton Drug Manufacturing Limited, Mr. Daniel Apeagyei Kissi stated that “2015 was an extremely difficult year for our company mainly due to currency depreciation, high inflation and the erratic power supply.
All of this caused us to lose a lot of money and threatened our survival as a business.”
He however said the situation compelled them to develop strategies to sustain the underlying business so as to remain in business.
He also outlined the company’s commitment towards appreciation of its customers for their loyalty and support throughout these difficult economic times “we hope to demonstrate our great appreciation for your continued support for Ayrton,” he said.
Loyal customers were presented with various awards including double and single door refrigerators, LED TVs, Water Dispensers amidst other items. At the end of the event, Osons Chemist was crowned the 2015 Overall Best Customer and Wellpharma Health Services won 2015 Best customer – Product Range.

Ayrton Drug was incorporated on the 24th September 1965 by the Late Mr. Samuel Benson Adjapong; a Ghanaian entrepreneur and the first Ghanaian Chief Pharmacist at the Ministry of Health. From humble beginnings at Kokomlemle, with a staff strength of only 10, it moved to its current location on the Abeka Road, Tesano in Accra in 1969.
Over the years, despite the adverse economic conditions, Ayrton has kept alive the hope of becoming a force in the pharmaceutical industry in Ghana with about 30 product lines.
Ayrton adapted quickly to the dynamics of the local business environment and with careful planning, managed to substantially upgrade its plant, machinery and product lines to its present status.
In February 2010, Adcock Ingram, a giant in the South African Pharmaceutical Industry, who has been in existence for more than 120 years acquired 65.59% shares in Ayrton Drug to become the major shareholder. Today, Adcock Ingram holds over 78% of total Ayrton Drug shares.
