“The chapter with 4reez Entertainment is closed,” were the emphatic words that emanated from raga/dancehall artist, Barosky.
Barosky was being quizzed by the host of the Peace FM’s ‘Entertainment Review’ show Kwasi Aboagye on the cause of the fall-out with 4Reez Entertainment managed by Mufti Dabre and a possible reconciliation.
It started as a ‘hot’ debate between Barosky and Mufti as to who went wrong in their dealings and the debate almost ended up as a bickering between the two.
According to Barosky, he left the group because he felt slighted due to the fact that his album was kept on hold for a reason he thought was flippant. He was not happy with Mufti’s claim that it was not time for a ragga artist to cause a stir in the industry and was also not enthused about the dividends he was reaping at 4Reez.
After featuring for label mates albums, Ofori Amponsah’s ‘Otoolege’ and ‘Emmanauela’ as well as Kofi Nti’s ‘Rakia’, Barosky justifiably thought it was appropriate for his own album to appear on the shelves. And when his wish was not being fulfilled, he walked out of the door.
“You should have taken your time,” said Mufti to Barosky “You were to come out before Kofi B.” To this Barosky replied, “Are you telling me now or you did before.”
After all the rhubarbs that ensued between the two, Kwasi Aboagye asked if Barosky would love to comeback and join the camp if the right structures are put in place because the fans would love to see them perform and he retorted “It’s over.”
With his album now out and the track ‘kyerewaba’ gaining maximum airplay and rave reviews, Barosky says he has moved on and is looking out to the future.
