The Managing Director of the State Transport Corporation (STC), Nana Akomea, is confident that the flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will carve his path should he be voted into power in the upcoming general election.
According to him, Dr Bawumia will prioritise transparency, and accountability, and address other critical national issues to propel the country to greater heights.
“When Prof Mills was campaigning for President, we all said that he was not going to be his own man but Mr Ablakwa has told us that Prof Mills was a fantastic President. In the same way, Bwumia will be his own man.
“I have no doubt in my mind that he will look at national issues and where attention should be placed for the good of the country,” he stated.
His statement comes after the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, in one of his addresses to the nation suggested that Ghanaians would be handing over power once again to President Akufo-Addo should they vote for Dr Bawumia.
Mr Mahama insisted that Dr Bawumia has played an instrumental role in the Akufo-Addo government which has ultimately plunged the country into an economic crisis.
However, speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show, Mr Akomea who is part of Dr Bawumia’s campaign team, dismissed the suggestions.
He insisted that Dr Bawumia will bring the change the country needs.
“How a vice president can be the responsible officer in the government? How about John Mahama who was president? So it doesn’t reflect well on John Mahama because he had responsibilities as a president,” he said.
