Breast Care International (BCI) has taken its life-saving mission to Mampong Okuapeman in the Eastern Region to offer breast cancer education and clinical screenings to residents.
BCI said between now and October 2025, a team of health workers will frequently visit the region to ensure a large population of residents, especially the vulnerable from deprived communities receive education and clinical screening on breast cancer.
The Organisation aims to bridge the care gap to ensure no one battles breast cancer alone.
The initiative has already empowered thousands across Ghana to foster a stigma-free society and promote breast cancer awareness - so that no one dies from the disease.

Queen Mother of Mampong Akuapim, Nana Akua Perbea I, encouraged residents to embrace BCI's breast cancer screening initiative to ensure optimal breast health.
Noting breast cancer affects more women, she urged women to lead awareness efforts.
"If we educate everyone through our daily interactions, we'll reach a broader audience," she emphasized.
Citing Jesus Christ's 12 disciples spreading God's word globally, Nana Perbea I inspired women to disseminate breast cancer awareness nationwide.
"Prevention is better than care," emphasizes Nana Akua Perbea I, urging swift action without delay to prioritize breast health checks.

She commended BCI for promoting healthier breasts and empowering women to live better lives.
President of Breast Care International (BCI), Dr. Beatrice Wiafe-Addai, stressed that every day is an opportunity to raise awareness about breast cancer, indicating the importance of a year-round awareness campaign.
Given the numerous risk factors, including excessive alcohol consumption and unhealthy lifestyle habits, she advocated for intensified education and clinical screening efforts.

"We don't want to see advanced breast cancers anymore," she said. This statement is at the core of BCI's mission to bring hope, health, and empowerment to communities in Ghana through quality breast cancer education, screening, counseling, advocacy, research, treatment, and support.
By adopting a proactive approach to breast cancer awareness and education, Dr Wiafe-Addai aims to reduce late-stage presentations and improve the quality of life for women at risk.
The initiative is a collaborative effort between BCI and US-based Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd to ensure breast cancer information reaches the last person in deprived communities.
