Elvina Nah Densua Mould, daughter of former CEO of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), Alex Mould has been laid to rest at the Gethsemane Cemetery at East Legon in Accra.
Her burial service which took place at the Christ the King Roman Catholic Church Thursday was attended by family, friends, government officials and well-wishers.
In his tribute to Elvina, who was being buried on her birthday, Mr Mould said her death had taught him to focus on spending more time with loved ones.
“Your passing away has taught me to decipher what is trivial and to focus on what really matters: to spend more time with and have the courage to express my feelings to those I love – my family and true friends – and in doing so, be happier.”
He expressed regret in not being able to walk her down the aisle on her wedding and not having a grandchild who he could play with.
“Never did I think that God would call you home so soon. I take solace in the fact that you are in heaven with the lord. But it hurts! It hurts that you won’t get to live your life to the fullest on earth; it hurts that I won’t walk you down the aisle on your wedding day; it hurts that I won’t ever see your children (my grandchildren), and spoil them just to pay you back for calling me Mr Malaprop.”
In other tributes, read on behalf of her mother, Mariel Ayorkor Mould, younger brother Glen Mould and other relatives, Elvina was described as intelligent, graceful and beautiful with a sweet personality.
Dignitaries who attended the funeral service included Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and former President John Dramani Mahama.
Other dignitaries present were 2016 presidential candidate for the CPP, Ivor Kobina Greenstreet; founder of defunct UniBank, Dr Kwabena Duffour; former Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, some Ministers of State, Members of the Council of State, Members of the Diplomatic Corps, Members of Parliament, Members of the National Democratic Congress, political party representatives, close friends and sympathizers.
A foundation dubbed the Elvina Nah Densua Mould Memorial Foundation has since been created by the family with the aim of providing education and sensitisation about the ignored complications of malaria, the disease that allegedly killed the former worker of Springfield Exploration and Production Limited (SEP).
Born on Thursday, January 30 1992, at North Ridge Clinic in Accra, Elvina was the first child of proud parents Alexander Kofi Mensah Mould of Jamestown and Mariel Ayorkor Mould (Nee Arbenser) of Osu, Accra.
