A three year old boy has died after he was attacked by bees at Gumani a suburb of the Tamale.
Little Salim was playing with his colleagues outside his home when the bees attacked and stung him. Even though some relatives came to his rescue, he was left unconscious and later pronounced dead on arrival at the Tamale Central hospital.
His mother who only gave her name as Fouzia told Joy News' Matilda Bugri she is shocked about the death of her second child.
Fouzia, who could not control her emotions, narrated the circumstances under which her son was attacked by the bees.
According to her, a friend to the deceased provoked the bees by climbing a mango tree to pluck mangoes. Salim was by then playing with his colleagues, under the tree.
The bees then attacked the children but Salim was the biggest casualty, she stated.
Fauzia said her son could not escape the attack, adding, Afa Mustapha, a relative to the deceased attempted rescuing Salim but to no avail.
