Management of Bui Power Authority has dispelled allegations circulating on social media and other mainstream media that a staff of Bui dam has been infected with coronavirus.
In a press statement signed by Fred Oware, the Chief Executive officer of the establishment said the information is “a blatant lie.”
According to him, after some schools and international agencies closed down due to the COVID-19 scare the Authority directed staff who had come in contact with the victim to self-quarantine for two weeks.
“We are therefore surprised that Vanguard newspaper relied on the internal memo to conclude that there was coronavirus at the Bui dam.
“It is absolutely untrue and we have asked the newspaper to render an apology and retract the story.”
