The Minister for Trade and Industry, Alan Kyeremanteng disclosed to JoyBUSINESS that almost 300 companies are to benefit from the initiative - announced in the 2017 budget as part of special initiatives to revamp and empower local industries.
President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nana Appiagyei Danka-WosoI told JOY BUSINESS, the move is timely and expressed satisfaction with government’s level of engagement with his outfit in the process.
He said, “The Ministry consulted us to come up with lists of companies that are viable but distressed. So in that response, we have sent the list to the Minister and so they considering some of these companies and we see it as a very, very important and viable move because…”
According to him, the move should provide a boost not only to the beneficiary businesses but government’s job creation agenda.
