Rihanna's lawyer, Donald Etra, has said she will testify if called as a witness in the case. The 21-year-old star, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, has not commented on the case or a photo of her injured, on police advice.
Brown was arrested on 8 February after the dispute in the Hancock Park area of Los Angeles.
Both stars cancelled their scheduled appearances at the Grammy Awards shortly afterwards.
