The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations has received the final report of the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) Committee, marking a significant step in the government's efforts to strengthen the sustainability, governance and efficiency of Ghana's digital broadcasting platform.
The committee, established by the Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, conducted an independent review of the country's DTT platform following concerns over its long-term sustainability, infrastructure management, governance arrangements and affordability for broadcasters.
As part of its work, the committee engaged the National Communications Authority (NCA), Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), Ghana Independent Broadcasters Association (GIBA), National Media Commission (NMC), K-Net and other key stakeholders in the broadcasting industry.

Receiving the report, Mr George described the occasion as "an important milestone in our collective efforts to ensure the long-term sustainability, efficiency and effective governance of Ghana's Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) platform."
He said the review process demonstrated what could be achieved "when government and industry stakeholders engage in open, transparent dialogue, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to finding practical solutions to national challenges."

The Minister noted that the report marks "the beginning of the next phase of the Government's efforts to strengthen the governance and sustainability of the Digital Terrestrial Television platform," adding that the Ministry would carefully study the committee's recommendations and undertake further consultations with stakeholders before making implementation decisions.
Mr George commended the committee and all participating institutions for their commitment to the assignment, stating that their work had provided the government with "a strong foundation on which to make informed policy decisions."
He reiterated the Ministry's commitment to developing resilient, transparent and sustainable communications infrastructure that supports the continued growth of Ghana's broadcasting sector.
