Sexy Confidence Haugen, Ghana’s representative at this year’s Big Brother Amplified Africa reality show has arrived in Kenya Thursday to support a charity.
Her visit to Kenya is by the invitation of fellow housemate, Millicent Mugadi, who is spearheading a campaign to eradicate the jigger menace in that country.
Jigger, also commonly referred to as Chigoe Flea is a bug which is affecting people from Asia, South America and Africa mostly. The flea enters the feet and hands and causes a swelling. It may also lay eggs in the host.
The swollen area is usually itchy and may turn pinkish or reddish. Jiggers lay eggs in multiples within a very short span. They are dangerous and are reported to cause the death of 20 people out of 200 living in affected areas.
Apart from Confidence, other housemates; Luclay, Wendall, Zeus, Lomwe, Felicia, Mumba, Bernadina, Bhoke and Kim have been named to also arrive in Kenya Thursday to join the Ahadi Kenya Anti-jigger campaign ambassadors to help eradicate the jigger menace.
The housemates, according to an aide to Confidence who spoke to Myjoyonline.com Wednesday night, shortly after Confidence left the shores of the country, are expected to attend an anti-jigger campaign in Thika, an industrial town in Central Province, Kenya on Friday, October 21.
The housemates, expected to number about 15, will help in sensitising Kenyans on issues that affect the lives of jigger infested people with the aim of making them anti jigger ambassadors.
The housemates will later interact with their fans at a party on Saturday, October 22 at the Galileo, one of Kenya’s hottest joints in Nairobi.
Confidence who is the CEO of the Aphrodisiac Nite Club will spend seven days in Kenya – She is expected back in Ghana next week.
