The Customs Staff Association (CSA) of the Customs Excise and Preventive Service (CEPS) of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), has congratulated the new Finance Minister, Dr Ato Forson, and pledged to work collaboratively with him in revenue generation for the development of the country.
“We are eager to support your efforts in addressing the financial challenges facing our country and enhancing the integrity of our customs systems. Together, we can work towards sustainable development that benefits every citizen,” the staff noted in a press release.
In the release issued by the association on Thursday, January 23, and signed by the National Secretary of the association, Gift E. Kofi Tsamah, the staff expressed recognition for the crucial role the Finance Minister plays in nation-building, emphasising the need to offer their support.
“This pivotal role is crucial in steering the nation towards economic stability and growth, and we are confident that your leadership will inspire positive change.
“As the Customs Staff Association, we recognise the vital role that effective fiscal policy plays in enhancing revenue generation and ensuring the smooth operation of trade, customs processes, and procedures. We look forward to collaborating with your office to promote policies that strengthen our economy while facilitating efficient customs operations,” the statement reads.
The staff also expressed confidence in the minister, saying, “Your extensive experience and commitment to public service make you an excellent choice for this important position. We believe your vision and strategic initiatives will foster a more prosperous future for all Ghanaians.”
They concluded by congratulating him on his new role, stating, “Once again, congratulations on your well-deserved appointment. We wish you success in your new role and look forward to your leadership in shaping the financial landscape of Ghana.”
Dr Ato Forson was sworn into office by the President, John Mahama on Wednesday following his appointment, parliamentary vetting, and approval.
He assured the President of his commitment to leading the country through economic challenges and working towards making Ghana a better place for all.
He has also announced to the international community that the country is once again open for business.
