The Chief Executive Officer of Davida Roofing, Mr David Kwame Aziago, has been inducted as National President of the Peki Senior High School Old Students Association (PESCOSA), with a renewed call for strategic leadership and sustainable support to reposition the school for accelerated growth.

The induction ceremony, held on Saturday, 14th February, at the GNAT Hall in Nungua, marked the swearing-in of the Association’s new National Executive Committee (NEC). The event was organised under the theme, “Rebranding PESCOSA for Strategic Leadership and Sustainable School Support.”

Alumni from across Ghana and the diaspora, alongside students, staff and invited guests, attended the ceremony. The Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Mr Eric Edem Agbana, served as Special Guest of Honour.

Administering the oath of office, the Association formally ushered in a new leadership era, with Mr Aziago pledging to uphold integrity, transparency and accountability in the stewardship of PESCOSA’s affairs.

In his opening remarks, Chairman of the occasion, Superintendent Mr Fatherland Kyei, described the ceremony as historic, noting that it was the first induction of its kind for the Association. He observed that PESCOSA was charting a deliberate course towards sustainable development aimed at elevating Peki Senior High School into the ranks of the nation’s leading second-cycle institutions.

He urged members to rally behind the incoming executives through both material and moral support to ensure the realisation of the Association’s objectives. While congratulating the new leaders, he cautioned that leadership would demand sacrifice and commitment, reminding them that responsibility accompanies honour.

Delivering the keynote address, Mr Agbana underscored his personal commitment to the event, revealing that he had adjusted engagements within his constituency to honour both the new President and the school.

The MP, who serves on Parliament’s Education Committee, emphasised that education remains the most potent instrument for socio-economic advancement in the Volta Region and beyond. Reflecting on his own background, he credited educational opportunity as the defining force behind his journey from modest beginnings to public office.

He encouraged the new leadership to adopt a strategic posture by leveraging networks and partnerships to attract development projects. Drawing from his experience in securing infrastructure and scholarships within his constituency, he stressed that resourcefulness and collaboration can unlock substantial opportunities.

According to him, the Volta Region’s current positioning within national governance structures presents unique prospects for institutional advancement. However, he cautioned that infrastructure alone would not secure the school’s future. He called for renewed attention to discipline, character formation and the cultivation of enduring values among students.

He further advised the new President to adopt an inclusive leadership approach, warning against centralised decision-making and urging teamwork and consultation within the executive structure.

In his acceptance address, Mr Aziago expressed humility and a deep sense of responsibility. He reaffirmed his commitment to leading with unity, transparency and accountability, describing the mandate as both significant and sacred.

Outlining his strategic vision, he pledged to strengthen alumni engagement across all year groups, deepen networking both locally and internationally, enhance member welfare systems and position the Association as a structured and results-oriented body.

With the school’s 70th anniversary scheduled for February 2027, the new President announced plans for a landmark celebration accompanied by a legacy project.

He revealed the Association’s intention to construct a symbolic entrance gate for the school, a structure he described as representing gratitude, unity and collective achievement.

Invoking the forward-looking philosophy of Ghana’s first President, Kwame Nkrumah, Mr Aziago urged alumni to transition from dialogue to tangible contribution, emphasising measurable impact over mere aspiration.

The ceremony concluded with the formal inauguration of the full executive body, signalling the commencement of a new chapter for PESCOSA as it seeks to reposition itself as a strategic partner in the long-term development of Peki Senior High School.
