Information available to Joy News is that the man whose body was decapitated in Feyiase, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, was an Uber driver.

According to Samuel Yaw Kwae, the Assemblyman of the area, Israel Agyei Manu also doubles as the headmaster of a private school at Atonsu.

The decapitated body of the 33-year-old was found at Feyiase in the Bosomtwe District on Sunday.

A white Toyota Vitz vehicle with registration number GE 3170 21 was seen parked at the scene.

The circumstances leading to his death are unknown.

The deceased is reported to have visited his fiancee at Feyiase and told her he has been booked by some people, thus was going to drop them off.

A woman is said to have briefly heard a loud cry near the scene of the incident prior to the body being found.

Some residents later found the decapitated body of the deceased on a pathway in the area.

The police were called immediately. Together with the community members, a search party was formed leading to the retrieval of the head. It was found about 20 metres away from the location of the body.

The severed head had multiple machete cuts. A mobile phone and wallet containing cash were also found.

The residents of the area, characterised by many uncompleted houses, say, this is the first time they have witnessed such an incident.

They say they fear for their lives. One family has already packed out of the area, following the incident.

The police say they are investigating.
