A year after the construction of the Sewuah Regional Hospital in the Ashanti Region, residents remain uncertain when the facility will be put to use.
During a visit to the hospital, Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu said poor access roads to the hospital and the installation of a power source were the reasons for the delay in operationalising the facility.
On the back of that, speaking on the Probe on JoyNews, Presidential Advisor on Health, Dr Anthony Nsiah Asare indicated that the road has been awarded on contract.
“The contract has been given out and it is being done, Sewuah is practically completed,” he said.

However, JoyNews checks indicate that the road leading to the hospital was still in a deplorable state.
Some road users said it's been about four years since the construction began, however, the road still remains in a bad state. They added that the last time a contractor was on site only grading was done on the road.
A driver said it has been over four years since drains and bridges were constructed on the stretch but aside from that nothing has been done.

He recounted how an accident almost occurred on the road because of the uncompleted bridge.
Station Master of the local taxi station, George Adjei said the contractor packed out of the site months ago.
