The Director-General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Mohammed Abdul-Salam, has been honoured with a prestigious Gold Award at the 8th Ghana Business Leaders Excellence Awards.
The Ghana Business Leaders Excellence Awards, instituted and organised by Top Brass Ghana, recognises excellence and honours individuals, corporate institutions, and entrepreneurs whose hard work and exceptional leadership have contributed to the nation’s economic growth and development.
The Awards Ceremony, held to commemorate Ghana's 65th Anniversary of Republican Status, was themed "National Development Through Dynamic Business Leadership."
Over 25 leaders, institutions, and entrepreneurs from across various industries were honoured on the night for their distinguished achievements.
Key among them was the Director-General of NLA, Mohammed Abdul-Salam, who received the Gold Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Ghana's economic development in the category of National Revenue Mobilization (Lottery).
Mr. Abdul-Salam was also recognised for his elevation to the exalted position of Vice-President of the African Lotteries Association (ALA).
Mr. Abdul-Salam expressed his gratitude to the organizers for the recognition, attributing the success to the collective effort and unwavering dedication of the Management and Staff of the National Lottery Authority.
He stated that the NLA will introduce reforms aimed at improving its operations and boosting revenue for national development.
While creating opportunities for its patrons to play and win, the Authority remains committed to supporting the needy, desolate, and physically challenged through the pillars (Health, Education, Youth and Sports Development, and Arts and Culture) of its Good Causes Foundation across the country, as mandated by Section 2(3) of the NLA’s National Lotto Act, 2006, (Act 722).” – Mr. Abdul-Salam said.
Other awardees include The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Ltd. for the manufacturing sector, Atwima Kwanwoma Rural Bank Plc for the Rural banking sector, Azmera Restaurant and Jofel Catering Services for Catering and Hospitality, and Robert and Sons Ghana Ltd., among many others.
President of the Ghana National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Stephane Miezan, who chaired the event, congratulated the awardees on their success and challenged them to develop innovative and bold solutions that would promote entrepreneurship and drive business growth, helping Ghana compete with other countries.
