The Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Faustina Elikplim Akurugu, has extended her condolences to the family of Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka following his passing.
Apostle Safo, popularly called the "Star of Africa," was a renowned spiritual leader and innovator who left an indelible mark on Ghana.
Mrs. Akurugu visited the former MP, Sarah Adwoa Safo of the area and her family to commiserate with them during this difficult period on August 15, 2025.
During her visit, she expressed her deep sorrow over the loss of Apostle Safo, describing him as "a man of vision whose works as a spiritual leader and innovator have left an indelible mark on Ghana."
Mrs. Akurugu signed the book of condolences, honouring Apostle Safo's memory and standing with the bereaved family during this challenging time.
In a heartfelt social media post, Mrs. Akurugu wrote: "I'm deeply saddened by the passing of Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka.
“He was a man of vision whose works as a spiritual leader and innovator have left an indelible mark on Ghana. His commitment to uplifting the underprivileged and his relentless pursuit of local innovation inspired confidence in what Ghanaians can achieve on their own. May his legacy live on in the lives he touched and the industries he helped shape."
Apostle Safo's passing was confirmed by the Safo family and the Kristo Asafo Church on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
He will be remembered as a spiritual father, philanthropist, and pioneer whose work will continue to inspire generations. Mrs. Akurugu described his passing as a national loss, adding that "Apostle Safo's legacy will continue to live on in the lives he touched and, in the industries, he helped shape."
