Top Nigeria music icon, Dr Sid of ‘Pop Something’ fame, will have his first major performance in Ghana at the grand finale of the 2011 Miss Malaika beauty reality TV contest.
The Mo Hits star will perform alongside some selected seasoned Hiplife music icons which include Sarkodie, at the Accra International Conference Centre on November 5.
A dentist by profession, the singer cum songwriter, born as Sidney Onoriode Esirican, can be said to be one of the hottest musicians in Nigeria as he is currently enjoying a great ride with his hit single ‘Pop Something’.
As the rest of the nation roots for their favourite delegates to make it to the grand finale, the competition continued last week with another extraordinary episode dubbed ‘The Fashion Night’.
Each contestant was first tasked to produce a design for an evening wear with the help of an accomplished designer. Then the contestants were put into groups to come out with designs for casually smart outfits, beachwear and avant-garde designs.
The judging panel for the night comprised the two godmothers of the competition, Anne Mary Sakyi and Mrs. Kay Bentsi-Enchill, plus the versatile Miss Sheila Gabrah, a talented model and budding fashion designer.
Don’t forget another eviction is just around the corner and patrons are encouraged to vote by texting the names of their favourites to the short code 1757 (all networks) to keep them in the competition.
Miss Maliaka Ghana 2011 shows Sundays on GTV at 9.30pm, GhOne Entertainment TV at 8.30pm, e.TV at 10:00pm and Homebase TV at 5.30pm. You can also follow your favourite on www.missmalaikaghana.com.
