Alliance Francaise was on Saturday night jam-packed with music lovers who thronged the place for a ‘Solidarity Concert for Haiti’ organised by Creative Storm.
The concert, Haiti – Ghana Response, saw some of the big names in Ghanaian showbiz performing for free to raise funds for worried Haiti.
Blakk Rasta, Wanlov Kuborlor, Praye, Reggie Rockstone, Kojo Antwi, Becca, KSM, Kwabena Kwabena, Wutah and Gyedu Blay Ambulley were among the artistes and personalities that graced the show.
Haiti was hit by a 7.0-magnitude quake on January 12, one of the worse earthquakes to have hit the country in two centuries. About 200,000 lives have been lost with many more rendered homeless.
As the country sees off rescue and search for survivors, attention has also been turned to aid and rehabilitations. The country expects about 10 billion dollars to be able to come back to its feet.
It is in the light of this that Creative Storm, in collaboration with Friends of Haiti, the Alliance Francaise and the Red Cross in Ghana, decided to organise the concert.
The Haitian Ambassador in Benin (for Africa), Jean Especa also graced the occasion.
