Ghanaian rapper Edem Goget'em, has stated in a recent post on X that he should have won the Artiste of the Year slot in the 2015 Ghana Music Awards.
Likening his situation to this year's Ballon d'Or which Vinicius Jnr did not win contrary to the expectation of a lot of people, he alluded in the post that even though he merited the Artiste of the Year award, it went to a different artiste.
"Why #BallondOr come dey behave like the way VGMA take do me 2015 Artist of the Year? This is a heinous crime!! A daylight robbery!! … Vinicius Jr is the REAL WINNER'? " he wrote.
In 2015, the nominees for the Artiste of the Year category in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards were Daddy Lumba, Stonebwoy, Guru, Edem, MzVee, Sarkodie and Samini.
Stonebwoy who won Artiste of the Year slot said in his speech, “I believe that the other artistes are happy I won…Behold how tall we have grown…This is well deserved."
Stonebwoy, Sarkodie and Edem who were the biggest winners on the night, took home three (3) awards each.
Edem's 'Koene' had several nominations as the remix of his song, 'The One' also earned him a nomination in the Best Rapper Category.
