Minority Leader Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu has underscored the significance of education, saying it should be given priority on the nation's development agenda.
He said it was important to make sure that no child was denied access to quality education.
Mr Mensah-Bonsu, who is the Member of Parliament for Suame, was addressing the people of Bremang in his constituency.
He was there to update them on the work of Parliament and to listen to their concerns to articulate them on the floor of the House.
According to him, he was encouraged by the increase in enrolment of some basic schools, including those at Bremang, Kronum, Kwapra and Abusuakruwa and promised to solicit funds to refurbish schools in bad shape.
Mr Mensah-Bonsu condemned the building of structures on waterways to prevent flooding and advised the people to keep their environment clean, thereby avoiding the outbreak of diseases.
The people appealed to government to repair the roads in Bremang, Kronum, Kwapra, Abusuakruwa and Kwantwoma communities.
