Embattled Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital Director, Dr Eugene K. Dordoye accused by his staff of having poor human relations, has temporarily been relieved of his position.
The Health Ministry has explained the decision was taken to afford Dr Dordoye the opportunity to take up a course in interpersonal skills.
The course which will be taken in Ghana is expected to last about five and a half months, Public Relations Officer of the Health Ministry, Robert Cudjoe told Myjoyonline.com Friday.

A caretaker has been appointed to steer the affairs of the facility in Dr Dordoye's absence, the PRO added.

The Health Ministry's intervention is in reaction to a longstanding dispute at Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital between nurses and the Director.
The workers have accused Dr Dordoye of poor human relations, claiming it is affecting the progress of the facility.

They petitioned the Health Ministry and Ghana Health Service in November last year to withdraw Dr Dordoye as the head of the Hospital.
The nurses resumed their sit-down strike on Thursday demanding the dismissal of the Director, but the Health Ministry has settled on a compromised solution.
After a meeting in Accra, Dr Dordoye has been asked to take a course in interpersonal skills to enable him to relate to his staff in a more befitting way when he returns.
Mr Cudjoe has appealed to the striking nurses to return to work while the Health Ministry addresses their concerns.
