The Founder and Head Pastor of the Synagogue of Prayer Ministries, Rev Dr Steven Twene, has emphasised the critical role obedience plays in achieving prosperity and success in life.
Speaking during the 2024 Crossover Service held at the church's auditorium, Rev Dr Twene urged Christians to embrace the spirit of obedience in their everyday lives as a guiding principle for both spiritual and physical growth.
He explained that obedience is a divine virtue that allows individuals to remain submissive to God’s will and experience abundant blessings.
"The spirit of obedience holds the key to prosperity. When we allow ourselves to be led by obedience, we position ourselves for God’s favour and open doors to success," he stated.

Rev Dr Twene called on Christians to not only obey God but also respect the spiritual authority of their pastors and church leaders.
"As Christians, it is important to obey your pastors and spiritual leaders. They are vessels of God’s wisdom and guidance. By submitting to their teachings and instructions, you align yourself with God’s purpose for your life," he stressed.
The respected preacher also highlighted the importance of obedience and submission in marriage, particularly urging women to be submissive to their spouses.
"Couples, especially women, must be obedient and submissive to their spouses. This is not about losing your identity but about creating harmony in the home. Obedience fosters love, respect, and unity, which are essential for enjoying the good things of life," he advised.
Rev Dr Twene emphasised that when couples build their relationship on the foundation of obedience and mutual respect, they create an environment that attracts blessings and prosperity.

He reminded the congregation that submission and obedience are not signs of weakness but rather a demonstration of strength and wisdom rooted in God’s word.
The 2024 Crossover Service, themed “Walking in Obedience for a Prosperous Year,” saw hundreds of congregants gathered to pray and reflect on their lives as they prepared to step into the new year.
Rev Dr Twene’s sermon was met with resounding applause, as members of the church pledged to adopt obedience as a lifestyle in the coming year.
He urged Christians to rely on God’s grace to cultivate the habit of obedience.
“Obedience is not always easy, but it is always rewarding. Let us walk in obedience in every aspect of our lives—in our workplaces, marriages, and personal relationships. When we do so, we will experience the peace, joy, and prosperity that come from God,” he said.

The service also featured testimonies from members who shared how obedience to God’s word and pastoral guidance had transformed their lives.
The church’s choir led the congregation in powerful worship songs, creating a spiritually uplifting atmosphere.
