The Minister of Energy, John Abdulai Jinapor, held a crucial meeting with the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) and the Budget Department of the Ministry on Wednesday, 19th February.
The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between the government and the private sector to enhance Ghana’s energy sector and industrial growth.
The engagement provided an opportunity for the AGI to express its concerns and expectations regarding energy policies and their impact on industries.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Energy reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with the AGI to address industry-related energy challenges.
Minister Jinapor assured AGI representatives that the government recognises the vital role of industries in economic development and is dedicated to ensuring a stable and efficient energy supply to support their operations.
He highlighted the importance of continuous dialogue between stakeholders to create a favourable business environment.
In his address, the Energy Minister also urged the Budget Department to prioritise the Ministry’s urgent activities in the national budget.
He emphasised that critical projects and policies aimed at improving the energy sector should be adequately captured to ensure their timely implementation.
This, he noted, would enhance efficiency in energy delivery and contribute to the overall economic growth of the country.
The engagement was seen as a significant step towards fostering cooperation between the government and the industrial sector.
Both the AGI and the Ministry expressed optimism about future collaborations to address energy concerns and drive sustainable industrial development.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to regular consultations to align government policies with industry needs.
