Emerging musician, Kwame AK, has urged his fellow musicians in the industry to stay original to their indigenes when creating music.
In an interview with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, the US-based Ghanaian singer mentioned that, staying true to their origin is the only way, Ghanaian songs can be recognised worldwide.
The artiste, born Kwame Akrasi, mentioned Burna Boy as a perfect example of an artiste who is constantly promoting Nigerian culture through his music.
“He is unapologetically African, even on the world stage and during interviews he speaks pidgin, just to represent Africa to represent where he is from,” he stated.
According to him, just like Burna Boy, it is essential to establish such an identity that separates the artiste from everyone else.
“I feel like being able to put our identity on the forefront, on radios and in our music is very important,” he added.
