The Florence Mensah Foundation, in collaboration with Reflo Company Ltd, has successfully concluded its impactful initiative, Helping 1000 Girls to Embrace Their Flow, marking a significant milestone in menstrual health education and support for young girls in Keta Kedzi.
At a special gathering attended by community leaders, educators, parents and the young beneficiaries, the foundation celebrated the achievements of the year-long project, which aimed to dispel menstrual stigma, provide educational resources and distribute sanitary products to young girls in need.

Menstruation, a natural and essential part of womanhood, has long been associated with misconceptions that hinder the well-being and education of many young girls.

Recognising this, the Florence Mensah Foundation embarked on a mission to ensure that no girl feels ashamed or misses school due to a lack of resources or understanding about menstrual health.
Over the course of the project, the foundation conducted comprehensive menstrual health education sessions in schools and communities, empowering girls with accurate information and debunking long-held myths surrounding menstruation.

Additionally, the initiative provided sanitary products to 300 girls in Keta Kedzi, ensuring they have access to hygienic and comfortable menstrual management solutions.

Workshops and mentorship programs further reinforced the message of self-confidence and dignity, encouraging girls to embrace their menstrual cycles as a normal and positive aspect of life.

Speaking at the closing event, the CEO of the Florence Mensah Foundation, Rebecca Osam, delivered an inspiring speech and expressed deep gratitude to all those who contributed to the project’s success, including Springfield LTD, foundation staff and generous donors worldwide.

“To our girls here in Keta, I want you to know that you are capable, outstanding and can achieve greatness,” Rebecca Osam stated. “Your menstrual cycle is a symbol of your strength and womanhood and it should never hold you back. Embrace it with pride and let it remind you of your incredible potential.”
The foundation emphasised that while this phase of the initiative has concluded, the mission to support young girls across Ghana remains ongoing.

The event concluded with a call to action for continued collaboration, urging stakeholders to support and invest in menstrual health education and resources.
With the success of Helping 1000 Girls to Embrace Their Flow, the Florence Mensah Foundation has taken a bold step toward fostering a future where no girl is limited by her period, but rather empowered to thrive and achieve her full potential.
