The Multimedia Group Ltd. received a heartwarming surprise on Thursday as Barbara Akuorkor Benisa, Ghana’s former High Commissioner to Malta, paid a special courtesy call to join in the celebration of Joy FM’s 30th anniversary.
Her visit was not just ceremonial—it was personal, emotional, and filled with gratitude.
Accompanied by a stunning cake shaped in the iconic Joy FM logo and colours, along with an assortment of pastries and drinks, Madam Benisa brought with her the warmth of deep appreciation.
The cake, specially baked by Bakeshop Classics—the oldest bakeshop in Ghana established in 1990—symbolised more than celebration; it represented decades of shared history and support.

Speaking during her visit, Madam Benisa recounted her long-standing connection with the station. “Joy FM has been with me since 1997,” she said warmly. “You have supported me in countless ways, and I felt it wouldn’t be right to merely send a congratulatory message. I had to be here in person, and that is my style.”
She was particularly grateful to Mr Kwasi Twum, CEO of the Multimedia Group, for what she described as his ever-amiable personality and his constant willingness to offer help.
The visit was met with delight by the management of Multimedia Group.
Chief Operating Officer, Mr Ken Ansah, received Madam Benisa on behalf of the company and expressed deep appreciation for what he called “a high honour.”
“We are grateful, not just for your visit, but for your thoughtfulness and this beautiful cake,” Mr Ansah said. “It is the support, love, and dedication of individuals—big and small—that have shaped Joy FM into what it is today. Our essence is the impact you make, and without people like you, we wouldn’t be where we are.”

He also highlighted the value the company places on relationships and partnerships, explaining that they are what sustain the company’s relevance and purpose.
“We were especially thrilled to hear that you wanted to come yourself. Thank you for making this moment so special. Everyone in the company is going to have a bite of this joy-filled cake!”
Present at the meeting were Edem Knight-Tay, Programmes Manager, Joy FM; Kwaku Owusu Peprah, Channel Manager, Joy News; Winston Amoah, Head of Joy Business and co-host of the Super Morning Show; Samuel Odame, Producer of the Super Morning Show; Isaac Yeboah, Snr Editor, Myjoyonline; Emefa Atiamoah-Eli, Head of Strategic Partnerships; and Nathaniel Attoh, Head of Thought Leadership, Joy Sports.
