Four journalists from the MultiMedia Group Ltd., parent company of Joy FM, have been nominated for various awards at this year's Ghana Journalists' Association awards
Western and Central Regional Correspondents, Kwaku Owusu Peprah, and Richard Kwadwo Nyarko respectively, Manasseh Azure Awuni and MultiTV’s Gifty Andoh Appiah make the list.
The GJA’s awards committee announced the names at a short ceremony in Accra Thursday.
The awards have been slated for Saturday, November 2, 2013.
Will Manasseh Awuni, who is the current GJA Journalist of the Year retain the title or will it be wrest by the 2011 winner, Kwaku Owusu Peprah? Can the Central Regional Correspondent, Kwadwo Nyarko annex the coveted award or is he winning in some other category?
It could even be the new CNN MultiChoice Best TV News Reporter, Gifty Andoh, crowning the year with the GJA Journalist of the Year award, or picking up an award in the Sanitation category. Everything is set to unfold on Saturday evening!
The GJA awards recognize the most outstanding news stories of the year.
Announcing the nominees, the awards committee singled out Joy FM for praise for its excellent packaging of stories.
President of the Association, Mr. Affail Monney, made the annoucement in Accra.
He mentioned the Daily Graphic's Kofi Yeboah and Emmanuel Quaye, and TV3's Odilia Ofori, as some of the nominees.
