The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has officially marked the end of an era and the beginning of a new chapter in its Department of Public Relations (DPR) with a ceremonial handover of command from Brigadier General Eric Aggrey-Quashie to Captain (GN) Veronica Adzo Arhin.
The ceremony, held on Tuesday, 20 May 2025, at the DPR headquarters, served as a formal farewell to Brig Gen Aggrey-Quashie, who has concluded his tenure as Director General.

In a dignified and reflective event, the outgoing Director General passed the mantle of leadership to Captain (GN) Arhin, who now assumes command of the department.

The event celebrated Brig Gen Aggrey-Quashie's dedicated service and contributions to both the Ghana Armed Forces and the DPR.

His leadership was praised as instrumental in promoting professionalism, discipline, and effective military communication.

In his farewell remarks, Brig Gen Aggrey-Quashie expressed heartfelt gratitude to the personnel of the department, acknowledging their unwavering commitment and professionalism.

He highlighted key milestones achieved during his tenure and called on the team to maintain a spirit of excellence under the new leadership.

Captain (GN) Arhin, a seasoned officer with substantial experience in military public relations, was commended as well-positioned to lead the department into a new era.

Her appointment signals continuity in professionalism and an emphasis on modernising the GAF’s communications strategy.

The occasion also honoured two distinguished personnel: Ex SWOII Acquaye Eric Joseph, the department’s first Senior Warrant Officer, and WOI Akpabi Kwesi Brown, the senior-most military reporter.

Both men are retiring after 30 years of dedicated service, leaving behind a legacy of loyalty and discipline.

The Ghana Armed Forces, through the DPR, reaffirmed its commitment to excellence in military communication and public engagement as it transitions to a new phase of leadership.
