JoyNews can confirm that Chinese miners continue to contaminate the Tano River with their tailings at Samreboi in the Western region, despite continuous reports of direct washing of mining waste into the river.
Close to two years after we reported Akonta Mining Limited polluting the Tano River, our team has captured recent footage of mining activities along the river with poisonous mining residue.
Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor went back to Samreboi to gauge the situation and filed the following report.
