The Ghana Education Service has started investigating the suspension of 13 final year students of the Wenchi Senior High School. The students are on indefinite suspension and have been barred from taking their final WASSCE exams. School authorities say they are being disciplined for leading a demonstration in which school property was destroyed. Parents of the affected students have called for the intervention of the Ghana Education Service to enable them take their exams. Deputy Director-General of the GES, Stephen Adu says the service is seeking explanations from the school authorities to determine their response to the parents’ plea. In the meantime, Mr. Adu wants the aggrieved parents to send a formal petition to the office of the Director-General for consideration. Source: Joy News/Ghana
