GHALCA Elections 2025: John Ansah beats Isaac Koomson in Chairmanship race

Former Vice Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), John Ansah, has been elected the new Chairman of the association.

Ansah will lead the association following the conclusion of the elections on Thursday, January 23, at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Ansah and Isaac Wilberforce Koomson were the two parties who contested for the Chairmanship position in this year's elections.

Ansah swept 96 votes out of the total 132 that voted with Koomson claiming 35 of the votes with one being rejected.

He is expected to take over from outgoing Chairman, Kudjoe Fianoo.

For the Vice Chairman position, Phyllis Marku (94) beat Nana Amankwah (34) while Gabriel Godwin was voted the Regional Football Association representative ahead of Isaac Gasper.

The Ghana Premier League will have two representative, Joseph Nkoo and Fred Tindan.

Nkoo had 26 votes while Tindan secured 18. Rahman Yakubu, who was vying same slot 14 votes, missing out on the seat.

Other positions include:

  • Treasurer: Patrick Martey Boye retains his position for a second term.
  • Division One League Representative: Eric Opoku.
  • Regional Clubs Representative: Gabriel Godwin Kwao.
  • Women’s Premier League Representative: ASP Naomi F. Abdulai (CEO of Prisons Ladies).
