Ghana international Alidu Seidu has officially signed for Ligue 1 side Stade Rennais on a long-term deal.
The versatile defender joins the club on a deal that will see him stay at the club until June 2028, signing from Clermont Foot 63.
The 23-year-old played in 89 first-team matches for Clermont during his time at the club which included helping them gain promotion from Ligue 2 at the end of the 2020/21 season.
Speaking to the club’s website, he underscored how the move would help him realise his personal and professional ambitions.
"Stade Rennais is a great club, this is a great privilege for me. I am a player who does not like to lose, I am combative, I give everything for my colleagues and I am always looking for progression," he said.
"I am very close to Kamaldeen Sulemana, and I get along very well with Christopher Wooh. The rest of the players, I’ve faced them in Ligue 1, I'm sure we will get on well in the locker room."
Seidu becomes the latest Ghanaian to join the club following in the footsteps of John Mensah, Asamoah Gyan, John Boye, Kamal Issah and Kamaldeen Sulemana to have played for the Breton outfit.
