The Embassy of Ghana in Washington, D.C., has launched a targeted investment campaign in California aimed at attracting American capital into key sectors of Ghana’s economy.
The initiative is part of a broader strategy of community outreach and economic diplomacy across the United States.
Leading the Ghana-California Roundtable is Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, Victor E. Smith, accompanied by a team of economic and investment experts.

“California is a global hub for innovation, finance, and enterprise. It presents a unique opportunity for partnerships that can drive growth in Ghana’s priority sectors,” Ambassador Smith said.
The campaign focuses on promoting investment opportunities in technology, agriculture, energy, and manufacturing. Officials emphasised that these sectors offer viable and competitive options for U.S. investors seeking expansion into West Africa.
“We want American investors to see the potential for profitable and sustainable partnerships in Ghana,” Ambassador Smith added.
A key highlight of the California campaign is a Town Hall meeting with the Ghanaian diaspora, titled Empowering the Next Generation of Diaspora Investors and Streamlining Consular Services.
The forum will encourage diaspora contributions beyond remittances, fostering skills transfer, technology adoption, and access to global business networks.
The Embassy stressed that the initiative underscores Ghana’s commitment to deepening economic diplomacy and strengthening bilateral trade relations with the United States.
“Our goal is to ensure that diaspora and American investors alike can actively contribute to Ghana’s economic transformation,” Ambassador Smith concluded.
