Serbian SuperLiga side FK Vojvodina have announced the signing of Ghanaian forward Ibrahim Mustapha on a three-year contract.
The 24-year-old joins from Austrian Bundesliga outfit LASK, where recurring injuries have stalled his progress over the past two seasons.
“Football Club Vojvodina is pleased to announce that the first summer signing of the 'Old Lady' is Ibrahim Mustapha,” the club confirmed in a statement on Monday.
Mustapha will be hoping for a fresh start in Serbia following a difficult spell in Austria. He suffered a major setback in the 2023/24 UEFA Europa League campaign, spraining his ankle in a match against Liverpool.
That injury kept him out for 296 days and ruled him out of 29 games. The following season, he missed another seven matches due to fitness issues, spending 29 days on the sidelines.
Last season, he made only 10 appearances in all competitions for LASK, scoring just once.
Mustapha is already familiar with Serbian football. He began his European journey at Red Star Belgrade as a youth player and was loaned to several domestic sides including Grafičar, Zlatibor, Radnički Srem, and Novi Pazar before making the move to LASK in the winter of 2023.
